Michelle Morris

Muscle Xcess athlete

At the early stages of my bodybuilding career I was working in a chocolate factory making lots of hand made chocolates and sweets, this job tested my discipline at times but I am very competitive and determined when I have goals to aim for.

Who is Michelle Morris?

My favourite supplement is : “BCAA Intra Stack to drink during training .. love the taste of the berry one”

I have always been interested in sports ranging from athletics to motocross, but my weight training began towards the end of 2012.

I was inspired by a friend who did well in bodybuilding competitions so this gave me motivation to start weight training. I was told by many people I had good genetics and a lot of potential to do well if I was willing to work for it, so I decided to start my first prep to compete in April 2013.

Bodybuilding is my hobby and I want it to be my future career but my son Saul will always come first and I revolve my training around him, this has become a lot easier now that I own a gym with my partner Charlie who is also a bodybuilder. It helps that we share the same interests too.

My main goal in my bodybuilding career is to be competitive on an international stage and eventually attain my pro card, I always say if nobody laughs at your goals they are not big enough. I am very excited to compete at the Arnolds in Madrid with the help of my coach Harry Ogg, one day I hope to become a world champion.

Inspiration

Not only is he my sponsor and prep coach, Harry Ogg is a big inspiration of mine; Having had a bad accident in 1999 then achieving his main goal in bodybuilding by winning the UKBFF British Classic Title and then going on to place 4th at the Arnolds in America in 2011. He has been massive support to me through the biggest shows I have done and I couldn’t have done it without him.

I hope through my lifestyle I inspire my son to be a strong, motivated and determined individual like me in any venture he decides to take.

Training schedule

I recover fairly quickly so I tend to have 2 days on and 1 day off, rotating push, pull and legs. My legs grow quickly so I only train them with light weights and high reps. I do 3 exercises for each muscle group and at least 3 working sets – good quality sets, squeezing and keeping tension on the muscle. I have an idea in my head of how many reps I can do but I don’t start counting until It hurts, every rep counts.
